Crook County School District is nestled below the great plateaus of the Crooked River Basin and serves 3,000 students in a variety of educational models. Families can choose traditional, in-person classes among three elementary schools, one middle school, two high schools, and two rural schools that serve our ranching families. Our school district is known for its commitment to customer service and listening to the needs of our families, which is why we partnered with the Crook County Health Department to provide full-time, in-person learning during the 2020-21 school year. Our commitment to safety has allowed us to serve students successfully without any outbreaks of COVID-19 in our schools.
Innovation is at the foundation of our educational experience thanks to an incredible partnership with Facebook and their local data centers. The company has contributed nearly $2 million over the past decade helping the school district achieve 1-to-1 in technology – meaning every student has access to their own iPad or Chromebook. Facebook has heavily invested in our Career & Technical Education (CTE) and Science Technical, Engineering and Math (STEM) programs and is funding a K-12 robotics program to connect science and math concepts with the real world and help students learn innovation and creativity.
We are also proud to offer two online options for families who would rather their students learn from home. Crook County Online Option is our well-established online program providing real-time teacher support for students in all grade levels. Grizzly Mountain HomeLink is a new, one-of-a-kind program that puts the power of education in the hands of parents. The school district provides resources, a variety of curriculum, and certified teaching support – but parents mange the day-to-day learning of their children.
