Dr. Duane Yecha, Interim Superintendent

Dr. Duane Yecha is a familiar face to Crook County School District. He served as the superintendent for seven years from 2011-2018, helping guide the school district through a successful bond measure and ensuring stability after the Great Recession. The Crook County School Board was unanimous in its decision to appoint Dr. Yecha as the interim superintendent for the 2023-2024 school year. 

Dr. Yecha believes that staff and students deserve to have a a great year, and that everyone needs to work together to achieve that goal. He’s here to listen and wants to build meaningful relationships with staff, families, and community members. Anyone with questions or concerns is encouraged to contact Dr. Yecha.

Dr. Joel Hoff, Assistant Superintendent

Dr. Joel Hoff has been the district’s Assistant Superintendent since 2019. One of his top priorities is to ensure that each student receives a high-quality academic education as well as a well-rounded and rewarding school experience. In addition, Joel works with the school board, district administrative team, principals, teachers, support staff and families to continuously improve our schools’ level of service. Before his current role, Joel has served as a high school administrator, middle school teacher, coach, and athletic director. He has lived in Prineville with his wife and three school-aged children since 2013.
