Crook County School District

About Us

Crook County School District is nestled below the great plateaus of the Crooked River Basin and serves over 3,200 students in a variety of educational models. Families can choose traditional classes among three elementary schools, one middle school, two high schools (traditional & alternative)  – and two rural schools that serve our rural families in Paulina and Brothers. Crook County High School leads all high schools in the region with a graduation rate of 98% for the Class of 2021. District leadership and school board members attribute that success to quickly reopening schools during the pandemic and providing in-person learning opportunities for local students.

Innovation is at the foundation of our educational experience thanks to an incredible partnership with Facebook and their local data centers. The company has contributed nearly $2 million over the past decade helping the school district achieve 1-to-1 in technology – meaning every student has access to their own iPad or Chromebook. Facebook heavily invests in programs like Career & Technical Education (CTE), and (STEM) Science, Technical, Engineering, and Math and funded the launch of a K-12 robotics program that directly connects science and math concepts in the classrooms. Our goal is to prepare students for life after high school regardless of their chosen career path.

Want to learn how to sew? Get involved in drama? How about learn math through fun board games? Research shows that students involved in extracurricular activities such as clubs and sports perform better academically and have few disciplinary issues. Each of our schools offers a variety of fun and engaging programs through CC Connect. You can check out a full menu of after-school clubs on our district website.

Families who prefer their children learn from home can choose between two online programs. Crook County Online Option is our well-established online school providing real-time teacher support for students in grades 10-12. Grizzly Mountain HomeLink is a one-of-a-kind model that puts the power of education in the hands of parents. The school district provides resources, a variety of curricula, access to classrooms, and certified teaching support – but parents manage the day-to-day learning of their children.
