Crook County School District is nestled below the great plateaus of the Crooked River Basin and serves over 3,000 students in a variety of educational models. Families can choose traditional, in-person classes among three elementary schools, one middle school, two high schools – one traditional and one hybrid – and two rural schools that serve our ranching families. Our district is known for its commitment to customer service and listening to the needs of our families, which is why we partnered with the Crook County Health Department to safely open school full time for all K-12 students.
Innovation is at the foundation of our educational experience thanks to an incredible partnership with Facebook and their local data centers. The company has contributed nearly $2 million over the past decade helping the school district achieve 1-to-1 in technology – meaning every student has access to their own iPad or Chromebook. Facebook is heavily investing in programs like Career & Technical Education (CTE), and (STEM) Science, Technical, Engineering and Math and recently helped the School District launch a K-12 robotics program to directly connect science and math concepts in the classrooms.
Families concerned with the COVID-19 virus can choose from two programs that allow students to learn from the comfort of home. The Crook County Online Option is our well-established online program providing real-time teacher support for students in all grade levels. Grizzly Mountain HomeLink is a one-of-a-kind model that puts the power of education in the hands of parents. The school district provides resources, a variety of curriculum, and certified teaching support – but parents mange the day-to-day learning of their children.
